How can we control the politicians instead of having them control us? Oh, yes, we can vote about every four or five years and we can sit on juries to judge our peers and protect them from the spiteful excesses of law. But that’s about it.

How can we politically empower ourselves?

I’ll say it, I used to support Obama. But the recent allegations, the racism, and the lies have swayed my vote against him. At first my ego held me back, but my country is a little more important than my ego.Dont be afraid to change your vote. This is America, we’re free to change our minds as much as we please.

Let’s face it. Regardless of which political party, politicians are reluctant to seriously deal with the issue of illegal immigration despite the fact that most people (except the illegals themselves, or those that hire them) want something done.

Is it because business lobbyists are too powerful?
Is it because politicians want the Hispanic vote too much?

Are we soon going to be pressing “1″ for Espanol and “2″ for “English”, on our phones?

We need politicians who are not afraid to do what’s right: punish employers of illegals and amend the 14th Amendment to allow children born to citizens to become citizens.

But the Hispanic lobby is getting more and more powerful and they are flexing their political muscles.

And the only politicians who do make statements against illegal immigration are instantly branded as “racists.” We need a strong bipartisan effort to make the changes we need.

I need to send a letter to local politicians as well as the governor and the president asking them to consider sending letters or certificates of recognition for girls who have earned a very high award. I am very good at writing letters but this time I am stumped. I am not sure how to word it. Any help or links would be great.

Waitresses have to pay taxes on tips and are actually assessed as having received tips and charged taxes on them even if they never actually got any tips.
Why not assume all politicians get bribes and tax them, just like we assume all waitresses get tips and tax them?

Not all waitresses work in cocktail bars or at Hooters serving businesmen on expence accounts.
Not all waitresses get tips, but they all get assessed the same minimum amount for tips.

I believe that I could advise national leaders and politicians on the subject of how to make better quality decisions and how to stay in office by meeting the needs of the people. But I can’t get anyone to listen to me. I write many letters to the UK Prime Minister but I rarely get a satisfactory reply. Can you give me some advice please?

The dollar will become worthless if this continues. Hail to the rat finks in the U.S. Congress and the White House. No, let’s give them some hell. Send the politicians and the fat cats to hell. The gotta pay! I am not gonna pay for this. I will not just roll over and forget. Damn their lying eyes. Trust none of them and place no confidence in the criminals who did this.

The reason I ask this question is because i want to legally avoid taxes. therefore i thought, why not look to the politicians? For a variety of reasons, I expect taxes to increase in the US. whatever techniques or ‘loopholes’ politicians use are going to be the last ones to be closed (made illegal) because the politicians control the law and no-one wants to tax themselves. I am looking for a technical answer, not sentiments.

Political corruption is the biggest scourge of democracy. Politicians benefit from arguing and overemphasizing differences at times when they could agree on what they agree on, make the world a better place…and THEN argue til they turn deaf. Is there a way of making politicians benefit from agreeing with each other at times? Maybe the media needs reform? Maybe there needs to be a reform in voters’ attitudes? Maybe politicians need to be made more responsible for what they actually have done? But how?
