I have a strong Spirituality soo strong i have the abilities – involving humankind’s ultimate nature, often contrasts with the earthly, with the material, or with the worldly. A sense of connection forms a central defining characteristic of spirituality

I can call a person within my mind heart without raising my voice and or body language and control of elements as i mentioned earlier on.

For you personally how does religion differ to spirituality and how is it the same? Are you religious AND spiritual or just one or the other? If you are religious does that mean you adhere to one particular doctrine, eg. Christianity, and follow the bible, go to church. OR Muslin, believe in the Koran and visit the mosque? If you are religious do you HAVE to go to church?

Personally I don’t follow any set religion, but I consider myself to be spiritual. Just wondered how “religious” people view religion and spirituality?

I should state that I know what religion is, but I do not get how spirituality does not go hand in hand with religion. The two seem like compliments.

Please explain in detail.

That religion/spirituality isn’t all bad and evil?

I’m an atheist and I can still see the value and importance that religion/spirituality play in the world. And the many good things that come out of religion/spirituality.

This question isn’t just exclusive to Christianity, Islam, or Judaism; but rather any and all forms of religion/spirituality.

To me spirituality isn’t the same as religion AT ALL.

How do you view your own personal spirituality?

What makes you spiritual?

How do you develop your spiritual side?

Do you think ALL humans have a spiritual side (and those who think they don’t have just suppressed it)?

What makes someone WANT to be spiritual?

Is tuning in to and developing your spiritual essence the epitome of and “epiphany” to happiness?

If one were to transcend the ego, then how can one do school work and get A’s? Thinking is part of the ego. Is it impossible to transcend the ego if one has an intellect? Does one have to have an ego in order to perform to his potential?

I belive spirituality can be understood by self instigation. Then life’s aim turns to be being used for purpose higher than yourself. Infact Darwin’s theory of evolution tells us that aim of life is continuation of life as a whole and not that of a single individual. What ever one does which includes self development and struggle of any kind makes me feel the triumph of life and not a mere individual win.

So many, if not most, of the questions and answers the the Religion & Spirituality section of Yahoo! Answers are entertaining & absurd. Other than being entertained, is anyone really benefited? If anyone can knows of a forum of serious discussions, it would be good to know.

For me, as a Christian, I try to read my bible, but usually I pray everyday. I often wonder if it is enough. I have sometimes felt that maybe I should be a nun, or a missionary, like I have to dedicate my whole life to it to be good enough. I know that sort of contradicts the whole idea of God having grace on me through Jesus dying though. I don’t know. I’m not looking for advice, I just want to know, how do other people feel about their own spirituality. What is required of us?

I have to write a paper for a class on spirituality in the medical profession and have to interview people of different spiritual beliefs…so if someone who is not a Christian could answer this, that’d be great. (I’ve already interviewed one) These are the other questions:

Is your spirituality expressed through your religious practices? If so, how?

How do your spirituality and/or religious beliefs impact your day-to-day choices about how you live your life?

If you were in the hospital receiving nursing care, how might a nurse help you spiritually?
