How can you continue to work for someone with a big ego, who is a compulsive liar, and verbally agressive?
The leader of an organization I am a part of is extremely difficult to work with, and he usually goes unchallenged. His ego is ultra inflated, and other members of the organization are reluctant to challenge him because they are either afraid, or just don’t want to deal with the drama that comes with confrontation. He lies compulsively, and puts people down. He is dismissive, and tries to come off as a hardnosed professional, even though everyone else knows otherwise. I’m trying to find advice on what we can do to work together better as an organization.
well until you can get the power to throw him out, nothing much. If you are able to, you can just ignore him too, but from the sounds of it, I doubt that’s a viable option.

You are describing so called criteria for a good manager.Most companies probably would hire them as they get the job done.I think that the smartest person is the one who can listen be open to new ideas.Best to dispute his ideas with facts in a calm rational matter and others will probably back you up.
People like that have Major problems and try to be something they arn´t to hide them.
Remain calm and behave like a professional, the odd freindly quite remark or two in the right way directed at the right target will put him down to size. You just have to find out what his weakness´s are, and believe me he will have many.,

the way i see it is that if he’s acting like an @$$ then try to make friends with him; go out drinking or whatever if he still acts like an @$$ then after work you and some friends beat the s**t out of him
