My son is 14 and since the age of 5 my son has a real passion to be a wrestler. He trains regularly in Judo and want to gain some foundational skills. We have no local wrestling clubs in the UK.

Hi I would contact the FWA they run wrestling schools within the UK and as far as I remember they were expanding, have a look in Powerslam magazine or post a message in there.

this site will help you greatly. the idea of starting your own fed is a bad one to say the least. most of these schools are simply a foot in the door. whether your son can kick it down or not depends equally on his skill, ring persona, gimmick and what the fans think of him. it is a long road that will require much dedication and the understanding that it will hurt like hell. however there are a lot of techniques that need to be learned such as the correct ways to fall and to hit and all that. the ropes themselves are very painful in you hit them wrong. my girlfriend was a pro wrestler for a while and a few of my friends work the indie circuits. i have a martial arts background in Mui thai; which is a brutal and very painful martial art; and one day working out with them and i was done. i have a lot of respect for those guys. i could not imagine punishing my body the way they do day in and day out. i wish your son luck and hope to see him one monday night someday soon.
