With this in mind we can say that 100% of the people that join, and make it past boot camp, SOI and MOS training, like the image they project and the idea of being a US Marine. That is until they become disenchanted by outside influences or stark realizations at which time the ego being one of the few and the proud fades away. I would have to say each and every person who joins does so partly due to the image of what they believe is a US Marine. The only one that had any pride in themselves, their team and their uniform was the Marines. It has nothing to do with ego when your the best your the best.
