what are your thoughts and feelings on these issues of the ego?

how do you see “yourself” in relation to your ego?
do you think that the ego has played a significant role in the evolution and development of human beings (not speaking societally, but in relation to our evolution from lower primates)?
do you think that humans are heading in a direction that transcends the ego or submits to it and how does this make you feel?

We all have egos, some are much stronger and some are painfully low. I try to be humble as much as I am able so I won’t think I am better than ANYONE. I do know that I am just as good as anybody. God told me that. Yes I am a Christian.

Great Question don’t let it go to your head though ! hahaha
Ok Ego is in most people there’s good ego that is altruistic type ego and is about visioning a better world even for people you never met or a tree that’s old and should not be chopped down for the sake of industry then theirs the ugly “greed is good vanity type ego” that’s the type that the world seems to aspire to these days and pretty much why there’s so much poverty and suffering. What man needs to do is think from his heart and let his head think more about compassion and what freedom really means … unfortunately due to The ugly Ego we are all in different divisions .. a baby born in the cheap side of town “they say” isn’t worth as much even politicions are in on the act … freeing yourself from ego is a spiritual awakening but sadly their are many “pretenders” out there who claim to be spiritual &wise only to stroke their own “egos”
Your Question is a complex one there isnt an answer I can give to give you any resolution but your path lies infront of you always try and think of those behind you with kindness

Whats wrong with the world these days and since time begin is all about ego … too much “Me” not enough “you”

Ego is the will to receive pleasure. It acts as a filter on the use of resources. A difference between being without and being with an ego is that with it resources are spent on pleasure, rather than survival. Since the pleasure sensation is biologically easily exhausted, there is a constant search for more and more pleasure. This is the ego. The result is increased consumption of resources, and decreased sensitivity of the organism (distraction).

I see the ego as a filter between me and the outer world, something preventing me from experiencing the transcendental. I have experienced this and it is like nothing else. It is without happiness, but it is also totally without sorrow.

As for evolution, the ego is a biological error. The mainstream way of thinking humans have separates them from nature. Maybe without egos humans never would have become so exploitive.

As for where we are heading, as long as we insist on asking that we will be egoic. The egoless person does not consider past or future. That being said, I do not see any current societal problems too great. Society is the problem. It started out as being the practice non-violence, and now it punishes people.

There is a reason the mythical Adam/Eve story illustrates the fundamental flaw we humans have. Now we call it ego but they called it Pride. “Pride precedes destruction”.

Instead of seeing what IS true, we prefer to think that we know. Our vain imaginations color our vission and lead to all manner of trouble.

Each of us is 3 people: who others think we are, who we think we are, and who we really are.

I don’t think ego had anything to do with evolution in the past (future unknown) because the ego can not arise before self-awareness.

We are going in the wrong direction, ego-wise. Instead of transcending it, we worship it. Fortunately The Creator of human laws is the same one who designed the laws of physics, which are self-enforcing. When ego approaches insanity, society collapses and we are brought back to harsh reality.

Which reminds me, I think the election is evidence that the evil plague of Feminism has about run its course. Thank God, maybe within my lifetime it will again be socially acceptable to be a man. :-) Feminism is a great example of how Pride destroys everything, even the natural laws we humans are supposed to obey if we want to perpetuate the species.
