    It would be involuntary manslaughter.

  2. Charles Oakes Said:

    no. i dont think so.

  3. Chance Delaney Said:

I don’t think so, A wrestler signs a contract on you may get injured. Or worst.

It is a possibility. Years back a man was killed in the ring after he suffered a heart attack from the infamous “belly smash”. The other wrestler did a belly flop on the guy, he then died of a heart attack. The stunt was set up between the two wrestlers, however the outcome was unknown. An investigation occurred but he was found guilty. But after the situation he officially retired from pro wrestling. There is always a risk that could happen, as much as pro wrestling is staged there is a lot of physical extremities they go through. As long as its found to be an accident the wrestler just has to deal with knowing what caused the person to die. Suggestion, dont do anything to crazy.

no i dont think so it just like boxing and like ufc they sign stuff that says that they cant press charges

    ACTUALLY THE WWE WOULD BE

  7. Makena Smithson Said:

No, I don’t think so if he did it on purpose. Every match is planned out by WWE producers. If something were to be missed up iin preperation it’s not his faught. If WWE made the wrestler hit him the with a chair, it’s not his fought. But if the wrestler hit him with the chair when he’s not suppose to and he dies of head problems they might be able to blame it on him.

  8. Olive Clatworthy Said:

No they can’t. The wrestlers know that when they sign up for this job, there are risks involved. Something like that would probably be in a wrestler’s contract. The only way a wrestler could be charged with manslaughter of the first degree is if they killed them like after a match or something.

If they killed them in the parking lot or a locker room, and the murder was never in any storylines, then he would probably be charged with murder.

    Hope that answers your question!!!

  9. Chance Deacon Said:

Well every wrestler signs a contract. So it depends on how they got killed if they’ll be charged or not.

  10. Dandre Rimmer Said:

No, most of you are right about language in the contract that it’s an assumed risk. The other factor, most of what you see is fake anyway.

  11. Christopher Appleton Said:

possibly manslaughter but it’s all fake anyway!!!

THE CLOSEST THING TO THIS WAS THE DEATH OF DORY FUNK, SR.DIEING AS THE RESULT OF A TEXAS DEATH MATCH AGAINST A LATIN WRESTLER NAMED CYCLONE NEGRO IN THE 1960′S OR 1970′S. THE MATCH WENT FOR A LONG TIME & HE DIED FROM IT. NO CHARGES WERE FILED.

  13. Tessa Farrington Said:

I doubt it, unless someone totally snapped and really tried to hurt another wrestler.

Pretty much everyone knows that matches are scripted and that the wrestlers aren’t really try to hurt each other. If something happened where a wrestler died, they would have to prove the other wrestler did it intentionally.

It’s kind of like in football when someone gets tackled. Assuming it’s a clean tackle, what happens if the runner lands on his head, breaks his neck, and then dies? You wouldn’t be able charge the tackler with murder.

  14. Kenny Mainwaring Said:

Probably not murder, since that would imply some intent to kill. First degree murder generally requires forethought and planning. If someone was planning to kill another wrestler, it’s not too likely he’d do it in the ring in front of so many witnesses. A case could maybe be made for manslaughter, but this would really depend on the circumstances. It would be far more likely that the promoter would be held responsible for the death rather than the wrestler.

  15. Athena Rollinson Said:

They’re under a signed Waver before entering the ring and ringsides participation. Contracts are an extension of the Waver. If a Wrestler picks an opponent from the Fans, be assured theirs a signed waiver. A waiver releases promoters from Liability without grievous intent. If a injury law suite is beginning, out of court settlements are kept confidential. Boxers have been subjected to what You’re asking and unintentional manslaughter carries the burden of remorse.

  16. Maritza25 Said:

I think under most situations they would not. If they were performing as any other reasonable wrestler would they would not be held liable. I think the ref would be held more liable because its his job to call that match if he sees a wrestler is in real danger. Boxers have killed men in the ring and they haven’t been charged so I think that supports my way of thinking.

  17. Erin Turnbull Said:

    I don’t think so.

Khali once accidently killed a person while training and he hasn’t been charged with manslaghter, so no I don’t think so.

WWE could get in trouble for letting someone get killed though.

  18. harrispatrick Said:

Sadly, these things happen, but I’m sure the wrestlers themselves have to sign some kind of release forms that will protect themselves and others from charges being pressed. I’m sure that if foul play is suspected, an investigation would be launched, but I seriously doubt the wrestler would be charged with anything. As mentioned in an earlier post, Khali killed a man during training but nothing even came of it.
