What type of psychology is marriage and family under?

I am at USF getting my BA in psychology. My main goal is to get my PhD in marriage and family psychology. I know there are many types of groups of psych like clinical, experimental, etc. What I want to know is what group of psych does marriage and family fall under? I am trying to look at different school for my graduate program and I want to make sure they offer what I am going for.

Clinical psychology is the area the sees patients one on one or in groups. Other areas of psychology would deal more with research rather than a hands on approach.

    Marriage & Family Therapy

You are looking to obtain an (MFT) only a few schools offer this program. This is a masters in marriage and family therapy. YOu would be a therapist and you have to take an exam to recieve your license. This is what I plan on doing as well.Although, i heard it is quite difficult and takes many years. Anyways good luck!!
