His lucid and straightforward written work is almost legendary;amoungst critical folk and students alike. He has taught at american universities-some time ago before his death-and those lectures with Q and A can be found in at least one of his later books. He's an all around philosopher (though I don't think he's done much in ethics). His stuff is consistently well written, thought provoking and on the current edge of modern philosophy. But don't forget Jean Baudrillard or Camille Paglia.
